Talented Artist/Filmmaker Ben Wigley’s film ‘Of Walking On Thin Ice’ (Camino to Cop26) tells the story of a group of climate activists who walked 500 miles last year, from London & Bristol to Glasgow to Cop26.
It is the story of a people’s walk, carrying a message of love, hope, grief & fear & our connection with the natural world to those leaders deciding on the future of our climate.
To coincide with COP27 taking place this month in Egypt, we are therefore bringing this immersive screening to Southend. This unique screening brings together film, art, walking, storytelling and activism, to create an exciting audience participation event!
PLEASE NOTE There is no charge for tickets, this event is available to all, but we would request a donation of £5 per ticket where possible , to enable us to cover the venue/running costs of event.
For those able to participate in the walk to the screening, we will be meeting at Chalkwell Beach at 3.45pm to make our way along the seafront to The Ironworks, to arrive around 5.15pm, where there is a bar available for anyone wanting to purchase refreshments before the screening starts from 6.00 pm.

Block printing/Art design will also be available at the event, so please do bring along any clothing or cloth bags or anything you would like printed with our beautiful designs.
After the screening, a Q&A will take place and there will be the opportunity to hear some personal stories from activists – more details to be publicised nearer to event date.
Most importantly, there will be an opportunity before we leave to go home, for discussion/ presenting options of how we might each consider what actions we can take ourselves, on the greatest threat that humanity currently faces.
