As part of Women’s Work 2022, join us as we walk through the streets of Belfast’s Cathedral Quarter together to experience the beautiful and hard hitting audio journey ‘I Believe Her.’*

After the 30 min audio piece we will end at The Oh Yeah Centre where we will have a discussion about night time safety, street harassment and other issues that might arise from the experience with a panel of experts including some of the creatives involved with the project.

Then we will finish the night with a gathering together and a DJ set from Problem Patterns

In 2021 the team at three’s theatre company made an audio piece to let women know that their voices are being heard and to call mealy ally’s to action, it’s called ‘I Believe Her.’

The powerful piece was an outcry after a series of truly disturbing events.

The tragedy and violence of the disappearance and death of Sarah Everard, Police brutality at a peaceful and safe vigil, Meghan Markle’s Oprah Interview (where the backlash that her feelings about her own mental health were false) and a beautiful artwork in Belfast celebrating the female form was censored by a man, as he painted over the unpaid artwork Nuala Convery (@wee.nuls) had spent 3 days creating.

We have had enough of inaction, of watching our cries fall on deaf ears, so this time instead of speaking out – we are letting you in, letting you inside the most inner thoughts of the female minds when they are experiencing what should be one of the most basic tasks in life – just walking home.

We will listen to the piece on Soundcloud. Bring your own headphones and device to listen. We will have backups in case anyone runs out of battery etc.

*Trigger warning: This piece contains sensitive material and discusses topics such as street harassment, violence against women, sexual violence and abuse.
