The Cartographer’s Confession is a geo-located app featuring a fictional story situated in London that unfolds as users walk around three different city locations. Further material is released as users travel between the three areas in London where the story takes place. It combines voice, video, prose, original 1940’s photographs of London, commissioned illustrations, 3D soundscapes and a bespoke musical score to create a rich literary experience.
The app can be paused at any point and retains the user’s place. Different chapters can be experienced on different days if preferred. The app won the New Media Writing Prize for 2017.
